"Us" vs. "Them"
An in-group out-group bias is the favoring of the group that you are apart of or you associate yourself with. In politics there is always that bias between the democrats and republicans. But, I think people can take this in-group out-group bias to a whole other extent, especially when the presidential elections come around. Republicans and Democrats just butt heads, and I think that sometimes it can lead to people from either party being too judgmental of the of those for the other political party. I witness this on a first hand bases every single day with one of my older brothers, who is a die hard republican. All he does is make fun of Democrats and acts like whatever they think or say is irrelevant, and frankly I think its ignorant of him. Everyone's should be able to voice their opinion and not have to worry about what crude comments someone will make in regard to it. What you give out into the world is what you get back. I'm not saying i'm against Republicans or that I am all for Democrats, I'm very indifferent about both sides. I do think both sides have good ideas to help America. However, with all of this he said she said fights and pointing fingers is not going to help us. Maybe for once we can all try and agree on something to ultimately combine ideas that could fix our government, economy, health care etc.

I definitely agree with what you're saying...I think that we should find common ground between both Republicans and Democrats in order to successfully fix the problems in the U.S. I feel like rather than focusing on the differences that each party has, we should focus more on what makes us so similar (which is ultimately the good of our country.) I think that sometimes we lose the core values behind the United States of America, and instead focus on arguments and who is better. I think you did a really good job relating your personal life to the upcoming presidential election, because it's so relevant in our society.
